Friendly hotelstaff, great service from the owner. Took time to explain a lot of things about the area and things you can do. Great view from the room, private spa reservation (no costs) is possible. Owner offers to pick up guests from the nearby train/busstation which is very necessary. TIP: When you'd go out; don't forget to write down the address and/or phonenumber.

Location is a bit far from the rest of the town. Hotel shuttle and nature compensate for this. Kawaguchiko lake is not for swimming and very limited bus services around the lake/town.

The owner was lovely, really friendly and with a good grasp of English. The onsen was amazing, it overlooked Mount Fuji and you could lock the door to make it a private bath if you wished. Our room also had a beautiful view of Fuji-san, so much so that we left the curtains open overnight so we could wake up to the scenery.

When we got picked up from the train station, he first took us to a convenience store to buy food as there were no restaurants or wnything else nearby. This give you an idea of how remote this place is.

Excellent service by owner, Watanabe-san. Very friendly and helpful. Beautiful view of Mount Fuji at the dining area and from the rooms.

If it wasn't for the complimentary car service from the train station, we would have never found the Guesthouse. Very out of the way, but close to nature.

Pick up service from bus stop 21 whenever you want. View from room is beautiful. Free private use of onsen. Bikes available.

Room was quite dated and had a bit of funky smell (you can open the window though), noisy, pricey

We stayed just 1 night! This place has an amazing view of the Mount Fuji. We woke up in the morning and opened the window, and the Mount Fuji was there, just amazing! The dinner and breakfast were japanese style and were delicious. We had the breakfast with a stunning view of the Fuji-san. The onsen facility is good, clean and organized, you can schedule a private time, and during the day you can relax looking at Fuji- san. They have bicycle rental, you can pedal along the Kawaguchigo Lake. Such a great place. The guesthouse is about 15 min by car from Kawaguchiko Station, they have a free pick up between 4pm to 5pm. If you arrive early in the morning you can enjoy the Kachi Kachi Ropeway or Fuji q Highland (leave the bags in the loocker at Kawaguchilo Station). Come back to station at 4pm for and ask at the Tourist information to call the guesthouse and request the pick up service. After the check out they took us to the station without extra charges. The room was clean but a little uncomfortable. The staff quite helpful.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable.

Picked up free from Oishi park & dropped off at the train station the next day free as well. Room was very spacious & the traditional style was awesome. Were given traditional gowns to get around in & had a private onsen. The food cooked for us was great as was the view of Mt Fuji. A little bit out of the way...which is what we were after. Highly recommend for a chill-out for a day or two if looking for a break from Tokyo

very nice designed guest house, good architecture work。and we can rent a bike to ride around the lake, see the fuji, and even mokeies! Remember to order the meal in the guest house.

The fuji view in the guest house is not as good as we thought.

The room was big with Mount Fuji views. Helpful staff, they have a pick up services from/to the station. The onsen was big with Mount Fuji views, really nice.

It was a bit far and there was no bus service in Kawaguchiko after 18 p.m., so you have to walk or rent a bike (the hotel lend us two).

It has nice views of Fuji and, because of its isolation, it is quiet. The staff are kind and helpful and give lifts to and from the town, which one couldn't really survive without, absent a car. The communal bath was a good experience. It's clean as is the rest of the hotel. The Japanese-style rooms are comfortable and it's not expensive, by Japanese standards.

Bicycle rental is promised but the bicycles were all defective when we were there, so we had to walk and catch the bus instead. The grounds of the hotel were not well maintained and the hotel had a slightly deserted feel. The isolation can be a bit of a nuisance, without a car (or a bicycle). Food was only ok, in my view. Our dinner of stewed bacon was fatty and, were there a menu, we wouldn't have selected it. If you aren't going to offer people a choice, something a bit closer to the mainstream would have been safer. The option of hot buttered toast for breakfast in place of stewed lotus root and miso soup would have been welcome to a Westerner. The lights of the vending machine were on, but the machine itself was empty.

Very helpful and friendly owners (picked us up and dropped us off at the railway station, and were available for everything we needed). They spoke good English (for Japanese standards). Food was delicious and the Mount Fuji view from room/dining room/onsen made the stay really relaxing...

Very friendly and helpful owner. Fantastic location overlooking Mount Fuji and the Lakes. The highlight had to be the private steam baths which overlooked Mount Fuji and were most appreciated and very relaxing after a day cycling/walking. Great homecooked meals.

Warm and cozy place to stay in Lake Kawaguchiko area, the traditional Japanese room we stayed in was fantastic, with view of Mt Fuji just outside our window... The host speaks English, and we enjoyed great hospitality services from them: free transportation pickup from train station, fabulous Onsen and Japanese dinner / breakfast. Definitely a thumbs-up recommendation for family.
